6th Natural Concept Day

24/11/2023

Last Wednesday, the Institut Agro Rennes-Angers hosted the 6th Natural Concept Day. Jointly organized by the partners of the “futures d’élevages” chair: Groupe Grimaud, Adventiel, INNOVAL and the Fonds de Dotation Roullier, the event was dedicated to the crucial theme of well-being in animal husbandry.

The day was marked by a series of presentations, round tables and study reports, providing opportunities for discussion and exchange between industry professionals, students and teacher-researchers. These exchanges provided an opportunity to explore in depth the issues involved in animal welfare, to gain a better understanding of current regulations, and to discover current and future innovations in this field.

Participants were able to benefit from the expertise of various speakers. These discussions not only provided an opportunity to share knowledge, but also encouraged constructive reflection on the practices to be adopted to improve animal welfare on farms.
The day concluded with the presentation of the “Livestock Sustainability” prize. This prize, awarded following a student pitch competition, is aimed at rewarding innovative and sustainable livestock farming projects. The winners were applauded for their creativity and commitment to promoting animal welfare-friendly farming practices.

This event once again demonstrated the importance of collaboration between the various players in the sector, to move forward together towards a future more respectful of animal welfare in livestock farming.
